4 Different Types of Poor

1. The Indigent 贫困 Poor
- deprive of basic necessity of life

Deuteronomy 15:7-11

2. The Indolent 怠惰 (Dàiduò) Poor
- impoverished because of their own behavior

Proverbs 6: 6-11
Proverbs 10: 4

3. The Powerless Poor
- oppressed victims of human injustice

4. The Humble Poor 
- acknowledge our helplessness and look to God alone for salvation

Zephaniah 2: 3, 3: 12
Psalms 34: 1-6
Matthew 5: 3-12


What the Bible has to say about caring of the poor?

Luke 16: 19-31 (The rich man and Lazarus)

Matt 25: 35-45 (Dividing the sheep and the goat)

Both passages talk about the "sin of omission"
