Christingle

22 December 2009 - First time heard of Christingle. Children may be asked to create one of the below as one of the Christmas activities.

Orange: world
4 Sweets: 4 seasons
Red ribbon: the blood of Jesus
Lighted candle: Jesus Christ as the light of the world

The wineglass does not represent anything. It just assists the christingle to stand.

Snowing in Oxford

17 December 2009, This is the first day of snowing since I have arrived in the UK. I saw twice in the day but each of them just lasted for few minutes (perhaps not even more that one minute). Unfortunately I was not able to take some pictures.

Pictures taken on 18 December 2009.
