-          The World’s interpretation:

This movie encourages the use of this line to cast out fear. It also encourages us to believe in yourself. You should motivate yourself and You must believe in you that you can do this.

-          The Bible’s interpretation:

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you;

be not dismayed, for I am your God;

I will strengthen you, I will help you,

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

We should not let fear obstructs the way to success.

However, we should always fear God, and understand that relying on God is the only way to cast out fear. E.g. Exams, Interviews.

The Five Key Processes for Spiritual Formation

- There is a constant struggle of the two natures within us (Romans 7:14-20)

3. THE SURRENDER
- With all my heart (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- In all of my ways

4. THE SERVICE
- A fruitful life in Christ (John 12:26)
- A faithful commitment to Christ

5. THE SIGNIFICANCE (John 14:2-3)
- Our identity reflected (Who we are VS. Whose we are)
- Our destiny redeemed (What we are to do for God VS. What has been done by God)


Conclusion: The posture for spiritual formation
John 21:22
Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you, you follow me!”

• God is not looking for leaders who are willing to serve but servants who are willing to lead.
• Leadership is the responsibility, servanthood is a position we adopt.
• Mentoring is the empowering life-investment, in an accountable relationship, through which knowledge, skills and attitudes are effectively modelled and imparted so that lives are transformed (Edmund Chan, 2008)
• People don’t need instruction, but inspiration. You don’t say it, you show it. Mentoring are caught not taught.

• Mentoring is not mentor-centered, but mentoree-centered. 
• It’s about what the mentoree receives.
• Heart of mentoring is life changed.
• Pointing people to Jesus. Change of an inner life.

• Contrast on many things to one thing (God part).
• Distracted by many things, don’t border about many things, just focus on one. 
• The quietness of soul not bordered by many things.
