CG: Education & Career Fair

Employable VS Interest
For Employable - Always choose courses that can guarantee you a job in the future
1) What is the use if you cannot get a job after you have graduated?
2) Not wise to invest but with low/no/negative return
3) Education is extremely expensive

For Interest - Always go for the one that you are most/more interested in
1) It can last long
2) Meaningless or even torture to do something that you are not interested for years
3) Happiness and meaningful in doing the job

For me I think interest prevails employable in some circumstances because:
1) You will always perform better if you are interested in it
2) Better performance also helps you to be better employable:)

If you can choose to study a course that you are interested in and at the same time it can ensure a employable future, isn't this even better?

What is logistics?
Logistics is the science of planning. In simple terms, logistics means having the right thing, at the right place, at the right time.

Council of Logistics Management defines logistics as the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of conforming to customer requirements.

Military  - Logistics original use was to describe the science of movement, supplying & maintenance of military forces in the field.

Business - Later on, it was used to describe the management of materials flow through an organisation, from raw materials through to finished goods.

Banana Cake

Whip-1/2 cup margarine + 1 cup sugar + 2 eggs = A. Mix-1 1/2 cup flour + 1 teaspoon baking soda/baking powder = B. I ask for 3 ripe bananas (about 5-6 inches long) And mash them. Finally, whip the A and B, lastly whip the mashed bananas. Bake 1 hour at 350*F or 178.7*C or 180*C. Stick a chopstick into the cake, if it come out clean. It is done. Recipe from Pastor Yap:)

Worship Workshop

Real worship
- always starts from God reminding us who He is
- points people to God
- will see change/transformation of people

1) Listen to God
- First you must have a close relationship with God
- Pray intentionally
- Worship theme (focus on one aspect of God
- Sermon passage (to begin with)
- Season
- General needs
- Personal experience
Example
The Prodigal son: father runs (dignity and pull up robe) – Be specific!

2) Pave the way
- Pray for congregation
- Remove hindrances and disturbances (nothing goes on on stage 20 min before service starts)
- Provide a conclusive environment (ppt shows instructions how to prepare, for example by reading Psalms 33)
- Church decoration instead of putting flowers can put something symbolic or more meaning full. Symbols of Christ on Christmas tree and explain to the congregation

3) Point to God
- Tell the worship theme
- Explain
- Support/Illustrate
- Connects knowledge and heart (eg: God is holy but God allows us to come to him)
- Begin well / Open well
Example:
Chasing shadow: God does not change as shifting shadow
A glass of water spills accidentally: God does not say Oops

4) Help them respond together
- Song/music is a language that can be learnt
- We want to expand the area in the middle, win-win situation

5) Ensure clear, smooth flow
- Link everything around the theme
- Say something to link the programme after and before

Biblical Perspective of Worship

Worship is God’s people responding rightly
to God’s rightful position as God

Above All
Above all powers, above all kings
Above all nature and all created things
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man
You were here, before the world began

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones
Above all wonders the world has ever known
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure what you're worth

Crucified, laid behind a stone
You lived to die, rejected and alone
Like a rose, trampled on the ground

You took the fall and thought of me
Above all

Sharing by Pastor Maggie

Administrative vs Ministries
Remember that one of our roles is administrative where we write minutes, calculate offerings, check through the accounts and so on. On the other hand, we should be even more focusing our ministry roles (not to neglect our administrative role as well). Ministries are to head towards achieving our vision.

Discipleship / Mentor-Mentee Model

We ought to find a mentor who is also being mentored. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Be Humble (It was said repeatedly for many time, if not the most)
Philippians 2
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

Healthy Relax Mechanism
We ought to find our own way of relaxing so that we would be overstressed. Sports could be a good idea for guys.

Last but not least, we can actually enjoy leadership! We will enjoy when we have tasted the goodness of God and we share with others. So let us be committed in our quiet time with God.
