Daniel 1
- Preparation for the future
- God chooses people preparing for the future
- one of the best Books about Christian leadership

What are the 4 lessons about discipleship:
1. God has a plan and purpose for all of us
- everybody has a role to play in God's kingdom
- even in tragic situation like Daniel
- ethics set them apart not ability

2. God is currently preparing for this goal of His purpose
- you are not here by accident
- God is preparing you or something greater
- everything we do is an act of worship to God
- whatever you do, you do it with all your heart
- it's not about the grades but about the attitude
- be serious about what you doing at where you are
- you need to see your current situation as a training

3. God is currently testing your characters for His missions 
- compromise their faith situation take faith in Daniel and Joseph's live
- because they did not seek power therefore God entrusted them power
- Daniel was willing to lose anything for God
- he is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose (Jim Elliot)

4. We need to grow up as a teen 
- Daniel was not alone but as a team with 3 friends
- finding friends that share the same sense of mission

Once you identified God's purpose in your life...find people who share the same path of you. It is important to sustaining your passion. Iron sharpens iron.

Message to the parents and all the adults:
- not to stand in their way as they follow the way of God
- God will take care of our children more than parents can

Conclusion to the youth:
God is preparing for such a time as this.  You are not here by accident. Malaysia needs you and the world needs you. God has a purpose for your life.

Age 13-18 Finding your identity

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭10-12‬ NIV)

- Don't be greedy don't love money
- Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the faith

TAKE HOLD - actively
- You have been given life...what have you been doing with it.
- be a drive not a passenger
- think how God wants you to live this life.

1st rule of parenting
- Don't care what the society thinks
- Put my children's welfare first
- Trust God love and know better about my child's future and happiness

What does it mean to "TAKE HOLD OF LIFE"?

1. Discover God's plan for you
Clues
- What are your talents and gifts?
- What are your interests & passion?
- God is the only One who helps you to find out your direction

2. Dare to dream
- When you look at a mountain you see a barrier. When I look at mountain I see an opportunity to myself. (Edmund Hillary)

3. Be wholehearted
- in whatever you do, do it 100%ly
- never do things half way
- maybe nobody else will know it's not perfect but I will (Michelangelo)
- the philosophy of sportsman is not so much on win/lose but the spirit to pushing yourself and stretching your ability
- even when you peel a potato, peel with all your heart
- Because when you do things with right attitude, it is an act of worship

4. Be prepared to make sacrifice 
- Jim Elliot as missionary died at Ecuador
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose"

5. Never give up
- Helen Keller: Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
- Challenges and difficulties make life more interesting

Ephesians 4
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
